Response to Intervention
istation is the key to an effective RTI program!
- Validated Benchmark and Continuous Progress Monitoring assessments
- Differentiated instruction
- Teacher-directed lessons
- Implementation reports
|
|
The following is a suggested framework for using istation as the foundation of a three-tier RTI model.
Tier 1, Primary Prevention
- Screen all students using ISIP™.
- Revalidate students who test "At Risk" or "Some Risk" using on-demand assessments.
- Students continuing to struggle should use istation for a minimum of 90 minutes per week.
Tier 2, Secondary Prevention
- Increase student usage of istation to 30 minutes, 5 times per week for 16 weeks.
- Provide teacher-directed lessons with small group instruction.
- Provide additional interventions to students testing "At Risk".
- Students continuing to struggle should move to Tier 3.
Tier 3, Pre-Referral Level
- Use ISIP data and istation reporting audit trail to assist evaluation.
- Confirm final status using other instruments as appropriate.
- When evaluation confirms a disability, the student has special learning needs and should be referred to Special Education.
