Individualized Instruction
How does istation place each student into differentiated instruction?
Based on each student’s results from the ISIP™ assessment, istation is able to automatically assess and place each student into the correct skill cycle in the online interactive reading curriculum. The istation Reading Program has assessments that feed into its twelve cycles of instruction that cover the five main areas of reading: phonemic and phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Each time a student is assessed within the curriculum, the student data determines whether or not the student needs the built-in reteach lessons associated with specific skills.
Individualized Instruction
- istation automatically identifies students’ strengths and weaknesses and places them on a personal instructional path to improve their reading skills.
- istation takes out all of the teacher guesswork in determining which areas a student needs additional help.
- Students are able to progress at their own pace.
- Students are automatically given reteach lessons in areas where they have not mastered a specific skill. They are taught the same concept in another format which keeps them engaged and motivated.
- When students do not master skills in the online program, they are placed on a Priority Report that flags the specific skills in need of additional instruction. Additional downloadable teacher lessons are linked to this report, allowing teachers to deliver small-group or individual lessons.
- Individual curriculum paths close the achievement gap between students.
